Usually the second weekend of May, Steve and the boys head out to the father and son camp out commemorating the restoration of the Priesthood. They have a great time and get to do fun activities and make memories together with the men and boys from the stake. Evan LOVES it!!
Here are a few photos of Evan from the camp out.
Evan sitting at the campfire program
Evan helping Brother Hawkins build the campfire for the program
Tom had asked Evan several months ago to help with this assignment. He may have been sorry about that, because every time he saw Brother Hawkins after that, Evan reminded him about the upcoming event and let him know that he was ready to help out. Great job, buddy!!
These next photos were taken at a Philadelphia Union soccer game. We had never been to a professional soccer game and it was way fun. The stadium was beautiful and we had great seats...8th row at the center line.
The view from our seats...pretty nice!!!
The Union goalie kicking the ball
The fans in the "end zone" area were crazy. They had multiple drums, cheerleaders, and chants....a very enthusiastic bunch!!!
A wider shot of the stadium
Evan and Nate...Evan even wore his soccer uniform shirt
The Union were playing the L.A. Galaxy which has Landon Donovan on their team. I actually remember seeing him play in the world cup so I thought I would snap this photo. :) He played well and the Galaxy did end up winning, but it was still a lot of fun. Thanks, Dad!!
We also got to see the completion of Nathan's eagle project. After the assembly night at the church, there were a few more odds and ends that needed to be collected to complete all 500 hygiene kits for the Christian Caring Center. On May 18, Nathan, Evan, and I delivered the kits to the center

A job well done!!!
And speaking of a job well done, here is Nate after the Seneca Academic Awards.
He received awards for Debate Team, FBLA competition, Top Latin II student, and Gold Medal on the National Latin Exam.....on which he just happened to get a perfect score. That was a first for Seneca High School!!!! Way to go, Nate!!
Evan was very excited to participate in his very first Pinewood Derby on May 22. He and Steve worked very hard on his car and he was very pleased with both the look and performance of good ol' #9. Here are a few photos of the fun....
The finished product
Kind of blurry...but this shows the scale reading...it came in right at the allowable 5.0 oz
Getting weighed at our house
We got together with the Moorestown pack for the derby.
They had 3 scouts participating and we did too.

They ran a lot of different races and awarded points for positions and in the end....
Evan got a trophy!!! Second Place!!
He also got and medal for "Most Traditional" for his car's design
Here are the grand champions...
