Our (slightly postponed) Birthday Trip to NYC

Happy (late) Birthday, Steve!!

Well, we finally made it to New York City for our little getaway for Steve's birthday on February 19th.  We had a wonderful time!!  We got to stay at our Wyndham time share which has a pretty great view!!

Spending time at the Manhattan Temple is always a privilege.  It never ceases to amaze me what a difference there is from the streets outside to the peace inside.  Love it!!

On Friday night we saw "Beautiful: The Carole King Musical".  It was fabulous.  The young woman who played Carole, was so talented and getting to see the true story behind her creative life was great.  We got to hear so many great songs and had excellent seats.  Since we got our tickets at the TKTS booth, we were able to see two productions.  So fun!!

Before the show, we went to a great restaurant called Ed's Chowder House.  We had seen it before near the temple, so we decided to try it this time.  It was a great choice - delicious!

The next morning we went downtown and toured the new Freedom Tower.  We had previously toured the 9/11 Museum but had not gone to the top of the tower.  It was a great tour and the view from the top was super cool.

Our second production was "An American in Paris".  It was lovely!!  There was maybe a little too much ballet in it for Steve, but he loved the music and the story.  It is always so amazing to me the number of talented actors and musicians there are in the productions in NYC.  So many people who have given their all to do what they love to do.  Very humbling!!
What a treat that Steve and I got the chance to enjoy such a great couple of days.
