Happy 28th Anniversary

The day we flew home from Utah was Steve and my 28th wedding anniversary. We had a nice dinner in the Minneapolis airport and had these fun cookies and some great flowers and gifts from our kids when we got home. Many blessings.....thanks so much, family and "I love you, hun."

Stephanie Graduates from BYU!!!

The day after the baseball game, Steve and I got on a plane and headed to Provo. It would be a whirlwind trip, but one we were very excited about. The primary reason for our trip was to see Steph graduate with honors from the Marriott School of Business at BYU. But we also got to pack in some other activities during our short (about 3 1/2 day) visit.
First, we picked out a wedding dress with Emily. She had actually done most of the leg work with Steph's help and had narrowed the choices to two. Next, Steve got to help Geoffrey select a car to purchase. Geoffrey has an internship for the summer and it was time for him to buy a car so that he could get where he needed to go. We also got to help a little with two apartment clean outs, and have a wonderful dinner with our kids there and my brother, Bruce and his wife, Jennifer.
The graduation was wonderful. The main graduation ceremony for the whole university featured Elder Scott as the main speaker. It was very good. The next morning was her college convocation which was equally enjoyable. We even got to see the Robertson family since Michael was graduating as well.
Friday night, Emily headed back to NJ. Saturday morning saw Steve and I getting on a plane home and Stephanie traveling by car down to L.A. to join Marc who had moved down with most of their things a few weeks before. Geoffrey headed to SLC later that week and now, unbelievably, we have no children in Provo. Seems a little strange....but no worries. Several will be back in the fall.

Play Ball!!!

It's baseball time again. We had tickets to one of the preseason games and it was soooo cold. It was just me and the three youngest kids. We bundled up well except that Evan insisted on keeping his outer jacket off so that his red Phillies shirt would show. By about the sixth inning we were ready to cash it in (we are usually die hard fans, but hey, it was a preseason game and freezing) but Evan would not hear of leaving. I made him a deal that at the 7th inning stretch we would go down to a lower (i.e. warmer and closer) level. It they would let us sit down there, we would stay a little longer. He agreed. Well, the staff had no problem letting us go down and sit closer to the action so we settled in some new seats.
Before long, Evan spotted one of the camera men taking pictures of fans and putting them up on the big screen at the park. He headed down and began kind of stalking the guy. The camera man figured him out and with a smile, took some great footage of Evan which went right up on the screen. He was thrilled. We were not smart enough to take a picture of him up on the screen, but Evan's day was made. This photo tells it all. A very fun memory!!
