Emily and Jim's Wedding

Emily and Jim were married in the Washington DC LDS Temple on November 19, 2011. We traveled down to Washington on November 18th and Jim and Em both received their endowments that night. We were so happy to have so many family members be able to come for the special occasion. Grandma and Grandpa Tucker came from Idaho as did Jill's sisters, Jeri and Jan, and Jan's children....Austin, his wife Caitlin, Nick, and Rebecca. Stephanie and Marc came from California, Geoffrey from Utah, and Janelle, Scott, Alan, and James from Boston. Grandma Foulk, Megan, Nathan, and Evan came too. Even though Jim's family are not members of the church, his mom, Carol; brother, Marc; and family friend, Renee also came down to DC. The temple sealing ceremony took place on Saturday morning with Brother Bert Willis performing the sealing. Bishop and Sister Feuz came down for the sealing as did two of the missionaries who had been instrumental in Jim's conversion, Elders Baugh and Call. It was a lovely day and the weather, although cold, was clear.
Here are some photos of some of the happenings of that special day.

FLOWERS!!!!!!

For Emily's wedding, we decided that we would try to do the centerpieces on our own. We used the silver mint julep cups from Janelle's wedding and put orange, yellow, and raspberry colored roses in them. When the flowers arrived they were beautiful and my friend JoAnn and I had fun putting them together.

Happy Halloween!!

Here we are at a Cheesecake Factory in Delaware. Marc was at a week of training in Maryland at the end of October so we met him halfway and got to have dinner with him. It was a nice surprise (and the food was pretty good, too.)

We got a surprise snowstorm a few days before Halloween. Evan thought it would be fun to go out and play in it a little that night.

Two Trips to Boston

There were two trips to Boston in the month of October. One was over the long Columbus Day weekend and the other was a trip that Steve took so that he could be there for James' blessing. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and always love the fun we have with our two beautiful grandsons. Here are some photos from the trips!!

A Prophet Comes to Visit

What an amazing opportunity we had on Sept. 19th, 2011 to see ground broken by Pres. Henry B. Eyring for the Philadelphia Temple. Sept. 19th marked the 224th anniversary of the signing of the Constitution of the United States which also took place in that great city. Steve and I and his mother, Caroline, were able to attend the actual groundbreaking ceremony with some other members, most of whom have lived in this area for years.
The members of our stake got another thrilling opportunity. Since he was in Philadelphia already for the temple dedication, Pres. Eyring agreed to cross the Delaware River and also participate in the groundbreaking for the Camden chapel to be built this next year. We were able to bring our children to this groundbreaking so that they were able to see Pres. Eyring, too. It was a very full and wonderful day.
