EIGHT IS GREAT!!!!

It is hard to believe that our "little guy" is eight. I was getting used to referring to him as "Evan, our number seven, from Heaven, who is seven!!" But time marches on. This is the year he can be baptized so he is excited about that. We are waiting till the end of the month for the baptism so that Janelle and Scott can be here for the occasion. Megan will be in her school's musical, "AIDA" that weekend so we decided to have the baptism then so the Robertson's could participate in both. Since age 8 is one of the years that we traditionally allow the kids to do a birthday party, we planned to make Evan's actual birthday the party day and the baptism day it's own special celebration. Evan wanted to have a Spongebob party so we printed our own invitations and invited the kids in his class. We played some way fun games and had quite the enthusiastic participants. Whew!!! Steve and I decided we might be getting too old for this kind of thing. But Evan had a great time....and that's really all that matters.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR. EIGHT YEAR OLD!!!
We love you, Evan!!!

Waking up on birthday morning, March 3rd

Opening some 3-D puzzles

Can you tell he likes Encyclopedia Brown books? He got 5-8 to go with his 1-4.

This was his most requested gift....a Boomerang Yo-Yo!!

All set for the big birthday party!!

His Spongebob cake

The pinata

We played Don't Eat Pete....with a Plankton flair and Pin the Top on the Pineapple (no photo)

This was a section of our jelly fish field......

.....and we had a "build a krabby patty" relay

Here is Evan with some of his friends at the party....

....and at a calmer moment on the following day with just the fam!!
Sure love you, buddy...Happy Birthday!!!

  1. Looks way good! I LOVE the Jellyfish field; so creative! The cake is pretty excellent too! Looks like it was a lot of fun and a lot of work. Happy late birthday Evan! And by the way...how often did you refer to him as "Evan, our number 7, from heaven, who is seven"? Because I've never heard that and it sure seems like a long name for him :) hahaha, I'm just kidding, it was funny. Love you guys!

  2. Love the cake. And the jellyfish. Awesome. And Evan told me he was really awake and just pretending to get woken up... if that is true it is some pretty good pretending in that first picture. He's quite the guy. Alan is pretty excited to see him.
