I decided to go out to BYU Women's Conference this year. I had last been in 2012 when I turned 50 and my mom and sisters made a big celebration for me. The classes are always so great and the best part is spending time with my mom and sisters. The Himes family were so nice to let us stay in their condo in Provo even though Jennifer was not able to come. They were deluxe accommodations and so close and convenient to the conference.
We found out a few months beforehand that Emily and her family were going to be moving to New Jersey at the end of April. Since I wanted to be helpful to them in the move, I thought I would go out before the conference and spend some time helping them with packing, cleaning, etc. Jim's Aunt Kim and his cousin, Michael, also came out to help. Kim flew with Emily and the kids back to New Jersey, while Michael and Jim drove the car across the country. It was a pretty good plan, and we were all happy to facilitate their move to the East.
I guess we must have been very busy in our efforts, because I took no photos of the moving adventure. But on one of the mornings before they left, I was able to go to the Provo temple. It was a lovely day and I decided to snap the following selfie. It's not the greatest picture, but it documents the beautiful morning, the temple, and the majesty of the mountains.
Not loving the major wrinkles in this "getting older" face, though :)
My mom, sisters, and I also visited my niece, Lauren, and her husband, Matt at their new home. They are expecting a new baby in October.
They had just gotten some new baby chicks which their dog loved looking in on. :)
In addition to my mom and sisters, we also got to see a lot of our children. Meg came down for the second day of the conference, we got together with three of Jan's kids....Becca (with her husband, Spencer), Katie (with her boyfriend, Calvin), and Nick...shown in the above picture with his mama. Fun times!!!
Mom, Jill, Jan, and Jeri - We had so much fun!! This was when we were out shopping.
Also, at the conference itself, at one of the photo op stations
Megan joined us on the second day of the conference. Super fun to have her there, too.
We even found a Rita's Water Ice Truck - Happy Faces!!
Love spending time with these amazing women. They lift me up with their examples and love.
Steve came to Newark to pick me up when I returned home. We took this picture on our ride home. Thought it was a pretty monumental odometer reading.
It's always good to be home....but especially after not being there much in several weeks between Florida and Utah.
