Memorial Day in Billerica

We were so excited to be able to travel to Janelle and Scott's new home over the Memorial Day weekend.  Not only were we anxious to see this home we had only seen in photos, but we were happy to be close enough that we could go up and help a little bit.  The members of their old and new wards helped with the actual move the weekend before and they had worked hard during the next week unpacking the really important stuff like the kitchen, etc.  They had also had a few challenges during the week.  Alan decided to lock the door to the master bedroom (for which they had no key) and James got really sick with a high fever and had a fever induced seizure.  He is fine now, but it was sure scary at the time.  Needless to say, they are now very familiar with the hardware store and have had both a locksmith and ambulance visit their home already.  :)

Such Good Buddies

That was DELICIOUS!!!

As I checked the photos from the weekend, I could see that we must not have had picture taking as our main goal.  But we are happy to have these few cute ones of the boys and Evan.
(OK...I just took my daughters advice and stole some photos off of her blog.  Thanks for letting me have some of these sweet pictures, Janelle.  For anyone viewing both blogs, sorry for the repeats  :)

Meg's Two Proms

Meg had two proms this year....the church prom at the beginning of May and the high school one in mid-May.  As I looked through my photos, I can only find pictures of the Seneca High School one.  I am sure that Meg has some saved on her computer from the church one so I will have to get some of those to add to my post, but here are some of the photos I have from the Seneca one.  She went to both proms with church friends.  Daniel Poaletti went with her to the church one and Johnny Neu went with her to the school one.  I think that it was an eye opener to Meg to see the contrast in behavior between the two proms.  She was thankful to be with a date who shares her standards.

A Father and Son Tradition

There is a weekend each year in May that, in Evan's humble opinion, is the best weekend of the year!!  This is the weekend when our annual father and son camp out is held.  It is a time to just relax with the guys (or so I've heard), learn about the restoration of the Aaronic Priesthood, and do a lot of fun activities.  Each year there is some new happening that stands out in the reporting to us girls.  This year would have to be the fact that the Monts family tipped a canoe losing their car keys and various electronic devices.  But even amidst the mishaps, the boys always have a great time.  Here are some of the photos.

This photo was actually taken in our back yard.  Evan wanted me to get an action shot of his technique in throwing this football.  Looking good, Ev!!

Evan with his catch.  He was the first to catch anything!

Looking pretty proud

Bill Snyder and his son, Christian.  This great family is in the process of moving now.
We will sure miss them.

It's hard to be patient after you already caught that first fish.

WOMEN'S CONFERENCE 2012

I had a wonderful opportunity at the end of April to attend BYU Women's Conference.  I had been once before....three years ago, I think.  This year, in honor of my 50th birthday, my sisters, mom, and husband gave me the trip as a gift.  It was wonderful!!!!  As an added bonus, Emily was able to attend the conference with us, as was Jan's daughter, Rebecca.  We received a spiritual boost and had a lot of fun just spending time together.  Here are a few photos from my time there.  So Fun!!!

Some Super Spring Break Helpers

In addition to taking it easy and relaxing during spring break this year, we also got a lot of little odd jobs done.  Megan was only here part of the week since she took a trip to California and Utah to see her sisters there.  Here are some photos of the boys involved in  some good deed doing.

Nathan doing some weeding by the mailbox (Yes, I did suggest to him that wearing shoes while weeding would be a very good idea)

Evan grinding wheat into flour

Making labels for the canisters

Here it comes....

....Here it is!!
Great job everyone!!

Two Phillies Teams

As anyone who knows the Foulk Fam knows, we are big baseball fans.  It is always fun when April rolls around and the season gets into full swing.  We were lucky enough to see the Phillies win on opening night at the ball park this year.  Way Fun!!!

The big Liberty Bell that rings whenever the Phillies score a home run...We got to see it in action that night.  :)

Evan took his glove even though our seats are very high above home plate ...ya' just  never know!!

But with some major players injured and some problems with our bullpen, the season so far has been a bit of a disappointment.  THANK HEAVEN we have the  Tabernacle Phillies to watch on a very regular basis.  Evan's team is so fun to watch and he absolutely loves playing the game.  He even got to try his hand at pitching one game and received the game ball in another!!  Way to go, Evan.

GO PHILLIES!!!!

A Beautiful Easter

I love Easter for so many reasons. Of course, the Saviors atonement is the primary one. It is a time to focus on and be so thankful for the miracle of the resurrection and the promise of eternal life. Since it appropriately is celebrated in Spring, it has innate reminders of that great gift which Christ gave to all of us. I love the new growth, the fresh, bright colors, and the signs of rebirth all around. Sometimes the weather can be a little unpredictable at Easter, but this year was simply gorgeous. Both Saturday and Sunday were perfect in temperature and had plenty of sunshine. We spent Saturday doing errands and working in the garden. In the afternoon we colored Easter eggs and then Steve and I went out to a nice dinner at the Smithville Inn. It was a beautiful drive down toward the shore and the dinner itself was delicious. Sunday morning featured the traditional Easter egg hunt in the morning. Once again, there was one egg that alluded us for a while, but Evan eventually found it. We then went to church. In the afternoon, Tracey, Chuck, Kaci and Nikki came over for dinner and the super egg hunt outside. Nathan and Megan hid 135 plastic eggs (Evan hid one, too)and then Nikki, Kaci, and Evan found them. They then proceeded to re-hide the eggs for each other multiple times. The rest of us sat out on the porch watching them and just enjoying the lovely day. It was so relaxing and nice. Thanks everyone for making our special day....well, special. Happy Easter!!!

We made some great colors this year

And we only dropped one.....the last one and it was so gorge....splat!
