Cub Scout Fun

I have the opportunity to work with some great young boys in cub scouts.  We recently had a den meeting at our home where we played chess and ladder ball.
Evan, Carter, Dylan, and Nathan

We also had a stake cub camp at the end of June.  The boys spent three days doing archery, BB shooting, rocket building, leather working, crafts, space derby and basically having a lot of fun and learning a lot of new skills.

Evan did especially well in archery and loved the whole experience!!!  We are looking forward to next year and more fun!!  Great job, cub campers!!!

Here is an attempted video of Evan's rocket launch.  Sorry it's sideways.  :)
It was pretty exciting!!

Nathan Turns 16

So I had to laugh as I was posting these photos from Nathan's birthday.  The look on his face is so Nate as far as his enthusiasm level about things like birthdays.  He is thankful but not overly excited about celebrations.  He is a good boy and a lot of fun to have around and we are so thankful for him.  I also realized that his 12th birthday was one of the first things I blogged about when I started out on the blogging thing, so I guess it's been about 4 years now.  Time goes so fast!!
Happy Birthday, Nate!!!!

Here is Nate with his card from Evan

He wanted a birthday pie instead of a cake so we made him a blueberry one.  You can see he is overjoyed with it!  :)

Off to Utah to Welcome Baby Jimmie!!

It is always such a miracle to welcome a new little spirit to this world.  This guy just couldn't wait to get here so he decided to come a week early.  Thankfully he let his Mommy finish her student teaching assignment before he came.....albeit by less than 24 hours.  :)  Such timing.  But everything went well and he and Mommy are doing just fine.  The timeline leading up to his birth is quite a story in and of itself.  I will refer you to Emily's blog for that tale.  (http://jimmieandemily.blogspot.com/)  She tells it much better since she was there and everything.  I just wanted to post some photos of this tiny, beautiful boy.  He is a treasure!!!

This photo was taken not long after his birth.  He looks like he is carefully considering something.

I love this one of him peeking out of one eye like he is not sure what he has gotten himself into

A long night for Daddy....but very worth it

These next three pictures are from a little photo shoot that Emily did while we were at church on Sunday.  What a handsome little guy!!

"Hey, that's my Mommy!!"

"Hi, Aunt Megan.  Thanks for coming down to see me!!"

Just look at that sweet face!!

Another sweet look

Jimmie got to meet his Great Grandma and Grandpa Tucker, too.  They came down for the weekend and   Bruce and Jennifer had us all over at their house for a barbecue.  It was so much fun.

Uncle Geoffrey came, too

Aunt Megan got to try pumping gas on the way home.....first time!!

I met up with a good friend of mine from high school at the BYU library.  Turns out she works with one of Megan's good friends from New Jersey.  Small world!!

Such a fun trip and such a sweet, new little addition to our family.
Welcome Baby Jimmie!!

Memorial Day - 2013

Some happy little boys!!

We got to spend some time with our favorite little guys and their parents over the Memorial Day weekend.  Friday started out pretty rainy and cold, but the weather got a little nicer each day.  We got to spend time playing lots of games inside.  Gobblet Gobblers is one of the boys'  favorites!

Here is James carefully putting each piece in place

James in the basement riding the horse...took time for a quick smile  :)

We had a picnic and swam in the pool on Saturday.  It was still a little chilly, but Steve built a nice fire in our fire pit and the boys were able to warm up after being in the pool.  It also made for some pretty yummy s'mores after dinner.

Evan trying to do "rabbit ears" with a marshmallow stick

There was baseball and ladderball played over the weekend.
Not sure which is getting started here...

James LOVED the swing and looking up into the trees

Alan with his "waffle pancakes" - decorated like a flag for Memorial Day

Everyone got in on that action

Nice flag, Evan!!

Yum!!

And Grandpa's 1954 driven by Steve...Scott, Alan, and Evan got in when they reached us in the parade.

We were also able to get the rows of beans planted while Janelle's family was here.
Just need marigolds around the edge and we will be officially done planting.
HAPPY SUMMER!!!!
